Gesture Recognition For Human-Robot Collaboration
  • Gesture Recognition For Human-Robot Collaboration

Deep Learning is one of the most mature fields of Artificial Intelligence in order to purpose new solutions to solve end users customers’ problems and simplify Human-Robot Interaction.
One solution is the gesture recognition on Machines located in challenging environments for maintenance and production functions.
We therefore carried out a POC in 5 steps on the Axians/Actemium Demonstrator (GrabIt) :

    • Application of gesture recognition to pilot a virtual robot
    • Start/Pause machine with a robot
    • Robot speed limitation with a 3D camera
    • Robot and gripper control according to the recognized operator gesture
    • Multidirectional robot control (2D)

The application can help to accelerate processes and procedures into the following areas:

    • The gesture recognition technology has been tested in the Actemium Rennes’s workshop.

TELEROBOTICS
  • TELEROBOTICS

Telerobotics is a area of robotics concerned with the control of robots from a distance.

We therefore carried out a POC in 3 steps in order to achieve the following objectives :

    • Increase the flexibility of the use of robots in the workshop or in production. The solution was to test a simplification of learning robotics trajectories by demonstration.
    • To improve the quality of production through the reproducibility of the human gesture. The solution was to test a real time teleoperation of robotics.
    • To improve the efficiency of maintenance operations. The solution was to test a remote control operation of a robot between 2 buildings through a private 4G network (with the help of Axians).

The application can help to accelerate processes and procedures into the following areas:

    • The telerobotics technology has been tested in the Actemium Rennes’sworkshop. The connectivity in 4G private between the human and the robot was realized with the Axians’ s support.
